About Rachael Ray

Rachael Ray is an American celebrity chef who has created a line of pet food inspired recipes from her own kitchen. She got in the dog food business due to her beloved canine, Isaboo. It was important to Rachael for her pet pooch to receive the best, and ate as well as the human members of her family.

It was difficult for her to find a balance between good taste and healthy nutrition. Therefore, Rachael decided to partner with Ainsworth Pet Nutrition and created the brand Nutrish. Her goal was to create a delicious pet food that is good for your pet’s health and on his taste buds.

A portion of the proceeds from every bag of Nutrish sold goes to the Rachael Ray Foundation, a foundation established to help animals in need. Rachael Ray dedicated the foundation to helping animals find homes, feeding them, and helping them medically.

Rachael Ray Dog Food Recall History

Rachael Ray and Ainsworth Pet Nutrition have had one recall on record. In June of 2015, the FDA ordered a recall of wet cat food due to potentially elevated levels of Vitamin D. Their recall history does not affect any dog food products.

In August of 2018, a consumer filed a lawsuit against Ainsworth claiming their food contained glyphosate, a dangerous herbicide that could lead to detrimental health effects. The case is being reviewed. Glyphosate is actually a common unknown ingredient in pet food. Glyphosate has been linked to potentially causing cancer in pets.
